Foil shavers are designed to remove very short stubble only. If the hair is longer than stubble length, the shaver will not cut effectively. These shavers are meant for smoothing and finishing, not for trimming down longer hair. For best results, use a trimmer first, then follow with the foil shaver for a close finish.
